Vernon Bernie Rand

Vernon "Bernie" G. Rand, age 96, of Bayville, passed away on Friday, July 22, 2016 in Pt. Pleasant. Born in Jersey City, he lived in Brick before moving to Bayville in 1999. He worked for Paco Printing in Lakewood for many years before retiring. He was a US Navy Veteran, serving in WWII Vernon loved his family, especially his nieces and nephews; and the adventures they shared. He enjoyed taking care of the lawn, cutting the grass and making sure all the weeds were pulled. Vernon also loved living by the water, watching boats out on the bay; and football, his favorite team was the NY Giants. Predeceased by his brothers and sisters; Vernon is survived by many cherished nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly. Relatives and Friends may attend visiting hours on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 from 6:00 until 8:00pm at Lacey Memorial Home 1022 Lacey Road Forked River, NJ 08731. A funeral mass with be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at 9:30am at St. Barnabas RC Church, 33 Woodland Rd. Bayville, NJ 08721. Cremation will be private. At the convenience of the family, Vernons remains will be interred in the Brig. Gen. WC Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
