Rosario "Russ" Marini

Rosario Russ Marini, age 92, of Lanoka Harbor, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday evening, December 2, 2017. Born in Italy, Russ moved with his family to the United States at age 12. They settled in Newark, NJ. Russ went on to live and work in the Newark area before retiring to Lanoka Harbor in the 1970s. He was a US Army Veteran, serving in Germany at the end of WWII. After he was discharged from the Army, he worked for Federal Pacific Electric in Newark, retiring as a supervisor after 30 years. Russ was an avid Yankees fan, he enjoyed bowling, playing cards and especially hosting bocci games on his court at home. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Predeceased by his brother Lawrence, and sisters Lucy, Diane, and Celia; Russ is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Naomi; his 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Russ and Louise Marini of Toms River, and Joe and Candice Marini of High Bridge; his 3 grandchildren, Gina, Anthony, and Nicholas Marini; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Family and friends are invited to attend viewing hours on Wednesday, December 6, from 2:00 4:00pm and 7:00 9:00pm at Lacey Memorial Home 1022 Lacey Road, Forked River. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 7, at 10:30am from the Church of St. Pius the Tenth 300 Lacey Road, Forked River. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Brig. Gen. WC Doyle Cemetery 350 Provinceline Road, North Hanover Twp. Burlington County, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Russ can be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital or the Lanoka Harbor EMS First Aid Squad at 305 Manchester Blvd. Lanoka Harbor, NJ 08734
