Robert J D'Espies Sr.

Robert J. DEspies, Sr., passed away peacefully after a short illness on April 18, 2015. Born in Elizabeth, he moved to Lanoka Harbor in 1963. His greatest passion was sailing the Barnegat Bay. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Gertrude; son Robert Jr. of South Carolina; daughter Veronica Gasmen of Lanoka Harbor; brothers Ronald of Lanoka Harbor and Kevin of Florida; sister Susan Gesualdo of Brick; step-mother Josephine DEspies of Florida. Robert is also survived by 5 grandchildren; Caitlyn, Jaya, Robert, Anthony and Ryan. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 21st, 2:00-4:00 PM and 7:00-9:00 PM with a funeral service Wednesday, April 22nd, 10:00 AM at Lacey Memorial Home, 1022 Lacey Road, Forked River.
