Marie Heiser

Marie Heiser, age 97, of Punta Gorda, Florida passed away peacefully on November 10, 2022. Marie was born on December 20, 1924 to Lena (Lieb) Joerger and Albert Joerger in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Marie grew up in Brewerytown, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and was the eldest of 9 children. Marie had 5 sisters and 3 brothers. Marie wed Walter Heiser on June 20, 1945 and they were married 60 years, until his death in 2006. They had 3 daughters, Theresa, Regina and Rose Anne. Marie and Walter owned and operated a Restaurant-Tavern in Jamison, Pennsylvania for many years featuring German-American cuisine. Marie was noted for her wonderful cooking and baking. After retiring they lived in Southampton, Pennsylvania and Waretown, New Jersey. While retired, Marie had time to pursue her love of gardening, knitting, crocheting and best of all, being with her grandchildren. Marie enjoyed singing in the Choir at Our Lady Of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Southampton, Pennsylvania for many years. She belonged to the Marion Society and made food for Meals on Wheels. In 2021 Marie moved with her daughter and family to Punta Gorda, Florida. Marie is survived by her 3 daughters, Theresa (Donald) Jakeman, Regina Costello, Rose Anne (Thomas) Zubrzycki, 5 Grandchildren, John, Thomas, Walter, Allison and Juliann, 2 Great-Grandchildren, Alicia and Zane, 1Great-Great Grandchild, Maverick. We miss Marie dearly. Services will be held at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church 611 Knowles Avenue, Southampton, Pennsylvania 18966 on November 19th. Viewing at 10:00AM followed by Funeral Mass at 11:00AM. Entombment immediately following at Sunset Memorial Park, Philadelphia, PA.
