Marie H. Kelly

Marie Haggerty Kelly, 95, of Manchester Township passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 3, 2023. Daughter of the late James J. Haggerty Sr. and Ellen (O’Mara) Haggerty, she was born in Trenton before settling in Whiting.

Prior to her retirement in 1979, she was a Legal Secretary for Judge Wilson Noden in the Mercer County family and Juvenile Courts for 27 years. She and her late husband wintered in Vero Beach. Florida, where she was an avid golfer. She was a former President of the Legal Secretaries Association of Mercer County, and

was a former President of the Women’s Auxiliary at Navy Lakehurst. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, William F. Kelly Sr.; her children, William F. Kelly Jr. and Ellen Marie Kelly; her son-in-law, Richard E. Smith Jr.; and her brother, James J. Haggerty

Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Patti E. Smith of Forked River; six grandchildren and their spouses, Stephen Wolf, Timmy (Ruthie) Wolf, Christopher (Heather) Wolf, Daniel (Taylor) Kelly, Jessica Kelly, and A.J. Smith; 8 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Cremation was private under the direction of Forked River Funeral and Cremation Service, 1022 Lacey Road, Forked River. A Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday, August 11, 2023 from 4-7pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in her memory to Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
