A Poem For My Mother:
You gave me life
To live as I please,
You gave me love and
Support to follow my dreams.
Your beauty lives
Forever deep in my soul,
The memory of your love
Fills my heart
And I am never alone.
– Christine Currah
The world tragically lost a beautiful soul; Linda Carroll, age 64, passed on August 30, 2023. Linda was born on May 1, 1959, in the Bronx, but spent most of her childhood and early adult life in Jackson, NJ. She spent most of her high school career at Jackson Memorial High School, then moved to Lacey during her senior year and graduated from Central Regional High School in ’77. She later started her career as a real estate broker-saleswoman and was one of the top in the county in her time.
If you knew Linda you knew that she was fiercely loving with all her heart, free-spirited, witty, and so much more. Linda was the type who knew how to make those around her feel her love, to sing while she cooked, and who loved to be intellectually challenged - even in her later years when she returned to OCC to pursue her certificate in drug and alcohol counseling.
Linda had one child, her daughter Lindsay (27), who survived her. There was truly nothing Linda loved more in this life than being her mother. The times they shared were filled with days in Lake George, baking Linda’s infamous cheesecake, picking honeysuckles, driving through the Hudson Valley and so many other wonderful memories that will be forever cherished.
Linda is also survived by her mother, Irene (96) brother, Fred (66), and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Forked River Funeral & Cremation Services, 1022 Lacey Rd, Forked River NJ 08731 on Sunday, 9/3/23 from 12:00pm - 2:00pm for friends and family to share stories of the good times and say a final goodbye to Linda.
In lieu of flowers, as a family, we ask that you please donate to a charitable organization of your choosing in Linda’s name.
