Anthony "Tony" Caivano

February 18, 1930 — November 15, 2016

Anthony J. Tony Caivano, age 86, of Forked River, passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Southern Ocean Medical Center. Born in Brooklyn, NY he lived most of his life in New York before moving to Forked River 24 years ago. Tony was a talented wood worker and craftsman. He loved working with his hands, making everything from cabinets and furniture, and cooking large family meals, to crafting stained glass. Once employed as a school custodian in Brooklyn he loved helping and mentoring the special education students. He was an Army Veteran, serving during the Korean War. Predeceased by his parents, four siblings, and his son-in-law Fred; Tony is survived by his wife Muriel, his children, Anna, Theresa, and Frank; step daughters, Carol and Barbara; his grandchildren, Anna (Rosario),and John (Samantha); step grandchildren, Samantha and Lara; and his great grandson, John Jr. Tony is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Relatives and friends may attend a memorial gathering on Thursday Nov. 17, from 2-4 & 7-9 with a memorial service at 8:30pm. Interment will be on Friday Nov. 18, at 11:30 am in the Brig. Gen. WC Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association (www.lung.org) or to K9s for Warriors. (www.k9sforwarriors.org)
